Prepositions of Location Worksheet: Where is the Apple?

Prepositions of location describe the location of an object or the relationship of one thing to another.

For example, if you want to indicate that “the ball is in the box,” you would use the preposition “in” to show that relationship. Other prepositions are “under”, “on top”, “next to”, “behind”, or “in front”.

In this preposition practice worksheet, students practice prepositions by writing down the location of the ball in each scene. Where is the apple in relation to the box(es)?

  1. Good, simple instructional material. It would be helpful to add “of” to complete the prepositional phrase in the word list when appropriate, e.g. “on top of,” or students will have this added step to their learning when they create sentences.
